The Boeing Company Charitable Trust Funds Picture Your World in the Schools
Green Spaces' Picture Your World Youth Photography Project gives students the opportunity to learn and sharpen their photography skills while experiencing the wonders of nature.
Thanks to a grant from The Boeing Company Charitable Trust, Green Spaces is bringing the Picture Your World program to local classrooms. This grant provides funding for fourth and fifth graders from Douglass Elementary in the San Antonio ISD and Gonzalez Elementary in the Edgewood ISD to learn from and enjoy nature.
Six classes in each school will benefit from a workshop in the spring and fall. Each lesson begins with a presentation of basic information about handling a camera and taking good photographs. After this, students are given digital cameras to use in the surrounding outdoor setting. This fall, the students will receive their instruction at the San Antonio Botanical Garden.
