Green Spaces Welcomes Susan Hughes as Interim Executive Director
Susan Hughes has assumed the duties of Interim Executive Director of Green Spaces Alliance, effective January 4th. Susan's professional background is in the fields of information management and communications and she is dedicated to environmental causes throughout San Antonio and the Southwest.
Among her community activities, Susan serves on the boards of the Edwards Aquifer Authority and Bexar Audubon Society, is a member of the Hill Country Alliance’s advisory board, and was a founder of the South Texas Farm and Range Forum, which will see its seventh iteration this February. Her conservation work includes five years on the National Audubon Society board of directors, and she is a trustee of Save the Laja, Inc., a Texas not-for-profit fostering watershed and habitat conservation in the Texas-Central Mexico corridor.
Susan is a wonderful addition to the Green Spaces Alliance team during this transitional period. She brings strong leadership skills and a wealth of knowledge to the organization. Susan is particularly skilled in nurturing relationships within and outside organizational structures and improving day-to-day operations. She obtained her master’s degree at The University of Texas at Austin and is a graduate of Trinity University.
